Michelsons UK was established in 1937 with a staff of two and one room. Today, the company operates from premises in Sittingbourne in Kent. Throughout its history, Michelsons has played a significant role in the fashion industry.

As a founder member of the British Menswear Guild, it has been integral in promoting and exporting men's clothing and accessories throughout the world. The Michelsons' reputation within the realms of fine neckwear and accessory manufacturers and marketers has long secured prestigious collaborations with many of the worlds finest and best known menswear stores and designers. These have included Aquascutum, Burberry, Jaeger, Liberty and Paul Smith. Its first commission in 1959 was to manufacture the inaugural Hardy Amies designed tie, selling at the top price of 39/6d for an exclusive tie in pure silk.

With a creative and stylish tie collection offering hundreds of designs and colours in a range of natural fabrics such as silk, cashmere and wool, and accessories including cummerbunds, waistcoats and scarves , Michelsons continues to be regarded as one of the UK's most reputable and innovative providers of high quality neckwear and accessories for both men and women.
